Rhianne & Cam’s Vintage Hollywood Tyneside Cinema and Sage Wedding

Rhianne and Cam… I don’t know where to start really. It was such… SUCH a special wedding for me. First of all Rhianne is a budding photographer herself so I felt that we really connected over our love for creating images.

There was so much that I could rave about about the day, the beautiful humanist Tyneside Cinema ceremony, popcorn confetti, the Fur Coat No Knickers dress, Rachel Simpson shoes, my wonderful assistant for the day (and friend) Sally who got me through one of the most physically taxing (as I was very poorly at the time) weddings of my career, The Sage, Vertigo projecting onto the wall… If you’d like to find out more about it I’d take a look over on Love My Dress where you can read all about how they pulled it off.

Newcastle really inspired me. I loved the architecture of the bridges connecting it with Gateshead. I’ve got to head back some time, maybe for a proper adventure and a look around the Baltic!

Esther & Nic’s Avoncroft Museum Wedding

Esther & Nic had their ceremony and reception at the delightfully eccentric Avoncroft Museum, Bromsgrove. With its TARDIS, vintage phone boxes and windmill (!!) to name but a few amazing touches, the venue was perfect for Esther & Nic.

The day was full of fun and heart, from the CD cover table names to the emotional speeches to one of my all time favourite wedding readings:

The Day the Saucers Came
by Neil Gaiman

That Day, the saucers landed. Hundreds of them, golden,
Silent, coming down from the sky like great snowflakes,
And the people of Earth stood and
stared as they descended,
Waiting, dry-mouthed, to find out what waited inside for us
And none of us knowing if we would be here tomorrow
But you didn’t notice it because

That day, the day the saucers came, by some coincidence,
Was the day that the graves gave up their dead
And the zombies pushed up through soft earth
or erupted, shambling and dull-eyed, unstoppable,
Came towards us, the living, and we screamed and ran,
But you did not notice this because

On the saucer day, which was zombie day, it was
Ragnarok also, and the television screens showed us
A ship built of dead-men’s nails, a serpent, a wolf,
All bigger than the mind could hold,
and the cameraman could
Not get far enough away, and then the Gods came out
But you did not see them coming because

On the saucer-zombie-battling-gods
day the floodgates broke
And each of us was engulfed by genies and sprites
Offering us wishes and wonders and eternities
And charm and cleverness and true
brave hearts and pots of gold
While giants feefofummed across
the land and killer bees,
But you had no idea of any of this because

That day, the saucer day, the zombie day
The Ragnarok and fairies day,
the day the great winds came
And snows and the cities turned to crystal, the day
All plants died, plastics dissolved, the day the
Computers turned, the screens telling
us we would obey, the day
Angels, drunk and muddled, stumbled from the bars,
And all the bells of London were sounded, the day
Animals spoke to us in Assyrian, the Yeti day,
The fluttering capes and arrival of
the Time Machine day,
You didn’t notice any of this because
you were sitting in your room, not doing anything
not even reading, not really, just
looking at your telephone,
wondering if I was going to call.

Gotta love a party where people are just going for it! A packed dance floor and an awesome playlist (not to mention a swishy dress just MADE for twirling!) makes me so, so happy! I can’t wait to go back to Avoncroft and find more secret hidden spots for photos!

Maria & Dan’s Vintage-inspired Northbrook Park Wedding

Maria & Dan planned a vintage-inspired day with a travel theme. I loved the wedding passport order of services complete with a pocket for confetti!

After their gorgeous ceremony we headed to one of my favourite venues, Northbrook Park, for their reception. The day was beautiful with gorgeous details, but also felt relaxed and full of fun.
